Christopher Mark Jones

A summer return to Johnstown, PA with the Roots Ensemble for a show at the Venue for Merging Arts (VOMA). This will be a full-band show, with two sets of songs selected from Christopher’s eight albums of original material. VOMA is a non-profit arts center that regularly books roots music artists for their well-equipped performance space. The venue is BYOB w/ food offerings.

We’ll be revisiting the magic of the 2023 concert at City of Asylum which introduced the songs of Montréal Encore, the French-language recording created by Christopher Mark Jones in collaboration with the poet Bernard Pozier (from Montreal). Many of those songs will again be featured, along with songs by Boris Vian, Michel Rivard, Henri Salvador, Bertrand/Desrosiers and Louis Aragon, for a full evening of chanson francophone. I’ll be joined by Eric George on percussion, Mark Perna on bass, and Brad Yoder on harmonies, guitars, saxophones and glockenspiel. The restaurant and bar will be open. Always a pleasure to perform at the non-profit Trinity House Theater, with its welcoming volunteers, excellent sound and lights, and faithful fans. Joining me for the occasion will be frequent bandmates cousin Dave Gillespie on guitar and vocals and Greg Winters on bass. I’ll be featuring songs from my three most recent releases -- Looking for the Light (2021), the French album Montréal Encore (2022), and Now I Know (2026)
